Outdoor Writer/Fishing Guide/Professional Kayak Angler

Originally from Georgia, Greg Bowdish moved to Florida over a decade ago to be closer to the amazing nature the state has to offer. His great love of the water and the outdoors eventually led to a career in fly fishing and he these days he is a well known guide, speaker, and fly casting instructor. He is also a popular outdoor writer and photographer and his work has been featured in both regional and national fishing publications.

Several years ago, he wrote about his passion for a quirky sport called kayak fishing which, much to his surprise, was about to become one of the hottest sports in the country. He found himself at the crest of an exciting wave. 2004 marked a turning point in Greg's career when he was asked to be a part of the Ocean Kayak Pro Staff - a position that not only would draw from his skills as a kayak angler, fishing guide, and boat builder, but give Greg access to some of the top names in the kayak industry in terms of paddling and fishing pros, leading kayak designers, and other iconic figures of the sport. Greg is an active advisor to Johnson Outdoors and offered a lot of input into the design and development of the new Ocean Kayak Trident 15.

Another one of Greg's talents is graphic design and his work has appeared on banners, t-shirts, ads, and websites for several fishing tournaments and festivals. His contribution to the 2009 Celebrating Wellness Fest is two fold; not only is he working with Silent Sports to share the fun, nature, and health benefits of kayaking, but he also helped with the logo and some of the printed materials of the festival.
