Marita Roussey, AP., LLC
2750 Stickney Point Road Suite 207 Sarasota, FL 34231
941-923-2203
www.bodytalksarasota.com
In BodyTalk, good health is established through optimum communication among all systems of the body. Using neuromuscular feedback, Dr. Marita Roussey asks the body which line of communication has been interrupted, then uses two or more points along that line to make up a link. Using light touch or mental focus on these points while tapping on the head/heart complex, communication is re-established. The innate wisdom of our bodies knows how to heal. The right order of healing for a particular person will bring about long-lasting health for the entire body/mind/spirit.
BodyTalk's assets are its simplicity, safety, and the speed of its results. It is non-invasive and works effectively on humans and animals alike.
Dr. Marita Roussey trained as an Acupuncture Physician in London, England and California. She has been practicing since 1987 and specializes in allergies and autoimmune diseases. In her clinic, Marita also works with endocrine disorders, and children with ADD and autism.
Marita is also a Senior Instructor of the BodyTalk System TM and has been teaching seminars internationally for the past ten years. She has developed a seminar on non-invasive allergy elimination for BodyTalk practitioners.
Dr. Marita Roussey has successfully addressed migraines, often caused by routine stress or traumatic events. Emotions, past events, and memories can be stored in any body part yet can affect the health of the entire body. Addressing these underlying events relieve symptoms permanently.
 |
Digestive disorders can be treated by retrieving and neutralizing the thoughts and emotions from the gut that have become pathologies. BodyTalk teaches the body to produce its own digestive enzymes and regulates its stomach acids.
BodyTalk helps you to manage arthritis by approaching the entire condition from many different angles: through the digestive system, through consciousness work or balancing old injuries.
Prevalent in our times are strains of viruses and bacteria that have adapted to become immune to antibiotics and medications. Dr. Roussey is addressing these super bugs and has extensive experience with Shingles, Herpes, Ebstein-Barr and Hepatitis.
Menstrual irregularities are addressed during comfortable, non-invasive sessions. As with any BodyTalk session, the client remains completely dressed. Hormone levels are regulated in establishing healthy communication among the ovaries, pituitary, and adrenals. Recurrent dysplasia is treated successfully as cellular memory can hold onto emotions associated with resentment, unforgivness, and guilt from past or current intimate relationships. Viruses and bacteria can only thrive in an environment of stress and anger.

Pineapple Bay Trading Company was founded in 1993 with a mission by the owners to travel around the world and bring back the finest jewelry, antiques, artifacts, decorative items and gifts for the wonderful people of Sarasota .
Background info from B.J. Graf, owner:
I attended college for a semester in Australia in 1991. While there I met a couple from Denmark who stated that they were in the process of travelling around the world. After talking with them for a period, I set a goal for myself to do the same. Four years later I had saved up enough money to take my first trip around the world. Over the course of a year, I traveled through New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Sumatra - Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and Nepal. Over the course of that year, my life was changed and I had acquired a serious case of wanderlust. Since then I have re-visited Asia, went to Africa, Eastern Europe and more - spending a total of about 2 years overseas.
In 1998 I had first visited Pineapple Bay Trading Company and I fell in love with the store. In addition to being enamored with the wonderful artifacts, antiques, decor and jewelry in the store - I also loved talking travels and trading stories with the owners at that time. I would often dream of owning a similar store in the future.
In 2004 my wife Kari and I had the opportunity to purchase the store. Though we continue to work for non-profit agencies in the social work field - we work in the store on weekends.
In addition to wanting to continue to bring beautiful decorative items and jewelry from around the world to the people of Sarasota - I made it a mission to help people get the inspiration, courage, and guidance to travel (especially outside of the US, Europe and the Caribbean - the "comfort zone" for most Americans). My "services" are free and people have taken me up on it. I have helped give guidance to numerous people and one couple left on March 1st for their first trip around the world - something I'm very proud to say I helped them do. It (traveling the world) is so much cheaper than anyone ever imagines (my year-long trip cost around $10,000 and a separate 3 month trip to India cost only $1200).
We travel throughout Asia (primarily India, Bali, Thailand, Nepal, and various Tibetan regions) to bring back the wonderful items in the store. Last year I went to India, Nepal, Thailand, and Bali - Indonesia. This July we are planning a trip to the Tibetan region of India and Rajasthan, (Western India). I have been to India 7 times and have spent about 12 months there in total. I have many contacts for antiques, fantastic affordable decorative pieces, and wonderful jewelry. In preparation for getting in the new merchandise there will be huge sales with discounts increasing to 50% off as the summer progresses.
Regarding industry trends - there are a lot of places in and around town that carry nice pieces from Thailand and Bali - which we have as well - but we also have a great selection of jewelry and pieces from Nepal and India that no one in town carries. We are also working on having meditation groups and talks on travels and other topics for the many enlightened people of Sarasota (I really do feel that Sarasota is filled with incredibly interesting people - and so many of them find their way to the store).
The merchandise in Pineapple Bay Trading Co. tells the story of a journey-the travels of owners BJ and Kari Graf.
While BJ was attending college in Australia 1991, he met a couple from Denmark who were traveling around the world. Their adventures inspired him to do the same. His year-long journey took him through New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Sumatra - Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and Nepal.
"Over the course of that year, my life was changed and I acquired a serious case of wanderlust," he says. Since then, Graf has spent another two years overseas.
In 1998, he came to Sarasota and first visited Pineapple Bay Trading Company. He fell in love with the store. "In addition to being enamored with the wonderful artifacts, antiques, decor and jewelry in the store - I also loved talking travels and trading stories with the owners at that time," he says.
Six years passed when he and his wife Kari had an opportunity to purchase the store. Though they both continue to work for nonprofit agencies in the social work field - they work in the store on the weekends.
"In addition to wanting to continue to bring beautiful decorative items and jewelry from around the world to the people of Sarasota," he says, "I made it a mission to help people get the inspiration, courage, and guidance to travel."
They regularly get in new merchandise from around the world and they plan to expand the store's offerings to include meditation groups and talks on travels and other topics.

TideWell Mission
TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care is an independent, not-for-profit organization providing the highest quality of care that embraces a comprehensive continuum of services for patients and families dealing with advanced illness.
Quality of Life for the Rest of Life
When quantity of time is no longer possible, TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care's focus is quality of life for the rest of life - making the most of the time that remains. It is a concept of celebrating life and the relationships that make every day special. That can mean different things to different people. Perhaps it's simply a chance to spend time with loved ones in comfortable surroundings. Maybe it's reconnecting with someone who has been separated by miles, time or circumstances.
For more than 25 years, TideWell has provided the highest quality care to patients and families dealing with advanced illness, while honoring human dignity and personal choice. TideWell strives to treat the whole person - fulfilling physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs - and views the patient and his/her family as a unit. That's what makes us so unique in today's health care picture.
We invite you to explore all the programs and services we have to offer. In doing so, we think you'll discover that TideWell is really about building relationships - providing the comfort and support to deal with complex and difficult issues and, along the way, finding joy in each day.
When we die may not be a choice. How we live is. TideWell doesn't give us the power to shorten or prolong life, just the power to live it as we choose.
(Please link to website: www.tidewell.org)
About TideWell Hospice
Serving more than 1,100 patients a day in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto counties, TideWell is one of the largest programs of its kind in the U.S. Home-based palliative care is the basic premise of the program, involving the support of physicians, registered nurses, social service counselors, home health aides and volunteers, all following a prescribed plan of care. TideWell's services are available to everyone, regardless of ability to pay.
The rewards of caring for those who are dying are at the heart of hospice and a catalyst in the continuing impact hospice has had for individuals across the nation. Nowhere is it more evident than on Florida's gulf coast, where TideWell will care for more than 6,000 patients this year.
Founded in 1980, TideWell has grown significantly in the past two decades. Although hospice is often perceived as an alternative just for cancer patients, TideWell admits patients with a broad range of diagnoses, including heart and lung disease, AIDS, renal failure, ALS and end-stage Alzheimer's. Any disease with a predictable prognosis of six months or less is within TideWell's admission criteria.
Death with dignity is the goal of TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care. It is accomplished through the expression of sensitivity in the care of individuals facing their final phase of life. By doing so, TideWell is able to pay tribute to the principles that distinguish hospice from other types of health care providers:
Holistic care
A team of professionals serving each family
An in-home centered philosophy
A patient and family focus
Cost-effectiveness
The greatest hopes for dying patients are to be pain-free and to have distressing symptoms controlled. Early on, hospice learned that quality of life revolves around these two factors, and only when they are controlled can people reach beyond to the comforts and therapeutic healing of mind and spirit.
In choosing TideWell, patients and families make a decision to spend their last months together in a familiar and caring environment. With TideWell's supportive services, there's a sense of relief as trained professionals offer care and guidance. Experts in pain and symptom control, TideWell staff focus on continuity of care. Decisions are made based on the individualized needs of patients, with the realization that something more can always be done to bring comfort and dignity to those dealing with advanced illness.
Rather than a place, hospice is a philosophy - a program of care and support wherever patients need us. TideWell's services extend to any location - a home, the hospital, an assisted living facility (ALF), a nursing home or any of our seven Hospice Houses.
TideWell's Creative and Caring Connections Department
The Creative and Caring Connections department of TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care offers a full array of special programs that bring quality of life to those with advanced illness. The variety of complementary therapies - used together with conventional medicine - are designed to facilitate stress reduction for patient and caregiver, pain relief and distraction, opportunities for "joy" and healing of psycho-social issues for patients and their families.
The categories of complementary therapy that TideWell offers are:
Expressive Arts
Music
Horticultural Therapy
Reminiscence and Life Review
Pet Therapy
Clowns - Humor
Caring Touch
Massage
Aromatherapy
Therapeutic Touch
Reiki
